About the course
This hands-on course will guide you, using sight, smell and taste, through the world’s key spirit categories and production methods.
The course is designed to introduce spirits in an interactive, structured and concise manner. You'll learn how to taste spirits using a systematic approach.
Successful students will receive a WSET certificate and lapel pin.

- The main types and styles of spirits
- Factors affecting the flavour of spirits
- Tutored tastings of 10 spirits
- How to serve spirits
- How to describe spirits using the WSET Level 1 Systematic Approach to Tasting Spirits® (SAT)
Do I need any prior knowledge?
No prior knowledge is required. All classes are delivered in English therefore a good level of English is beneficial.
Our WSET LV1 Courses are held at the Escapologist Cocktail Bar (35 Earlham St, London WC2H 9LD) from 9am until 5pm
Anyone can say they're an expert in wines and spirits, with a WSET qualification you can prove it. WSET qualifications are globally recognised as the international standard in wine and spirit education. Be labelled an expert with WSET.
